This is a required annual filing that is tracked through the SAFER system and failure to file can lead to hefty penalties if you get caught. 

Typically, the system opens around October 1st of each year for new filings and is required to be completed no later than December 31st of each year for the following year.  This filing is fee based based on the number of trucks you have showing on your MCS-150 and links (pulls) your truck count into the UCR system showing on SAFER and then calculates your fees.

Sometimes -their maybe a delay on the filing period -especially when the UCR Board has to meet to discuss the fee structure.  This is widely published throughout the industry by multiple media outlets.

Literally all you do is go to the UCR website  www.ucr.gov -enter and then verify your USDOT number  -have your payment method handy -and a few clicks later this requirement is completed
